2025 Scholarship Winners
Game Changers proudly recognized Sonia Pitts and Riley Curd as the 2025 College Ambassadors for their outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and community service. Together, they completed over 200 hours of service during their senior year.
Sonia participated in National Honor Society, while competing in volleyball. She graduated with a 4.23 GPA and plans to attend Spelman University as a Bio-Chem Pre-Med major.
Riley also participated in National Honor Society. A captain of her soccer team and member of the dance team, she graduated salutatorian with a 4.46 GPA, and will attend John Carroll University majoring in accounting.
Both received the Phil Annarella Legacy Scholarship and joined the “Pro Sports Experience,” connecting with leaders who transitioned from sports to professional careers.
GC SCHOLARSHIPS + PRO SPORTS EXPERIENCE
The Game Changers Scholarship and Pro Sports Experience is a nationwide program that recognizes the positive impact student-athletes have in their community while also encouraging them to be well-rounded citizens. Game Changers assesses a student’s GPA, attendance, disciplinary infractions, extracurricular activities, etc. to put student-athletes in the running for a scholarship AND pro sports experience (travel and lodging expenses-paid trip). These experiences have ranged from meeting executives and New York Pro teams facilities tours, to pro sports experiences like attending an LA Sparks game and meeting top executives.
The end goal is to use healthy competition to create a portfolio highlighting student achievements while incentivizing education and community involvement.

With a GCC chapter, you will enable and empower your students to make an impact—not just for themselves, but for the community and the world! To motivate and support student success is one of teaching’s greatest rewards. Game Changers will help you be part of your students’ growth beyond the classroom. Our advisor resources include the following:
- Advisor Training Sessions that focus on using the GC360 App, leadership skill-building, and peer-to-peer networking.
- Advisor/Student support via email and message board
- Idea exchange, utilizing message board
- Collaboration to build national service projects
- A website for the purchase of official insignia, apparel, chapter pins and recognition certificates.
- Chapter recognition opportunities, including the Outstanding Service Project Award.

Change is where growth occurs. In 2013, I moved back to the continental US to make a positive difference in the community that has given me so much. Creating a nonprofit organization for our youth has been the most challenging, yet rewarding journey of my life. From the beginning, Game Changers has been on a mission to be both engaging and impactful in reaching our student-athletes! Since 2014, Game Changers has worked with over 4,400 students nationwide. My foundation was Faith, Family, and Football, and today, my goal is to continue creating like-platforms that encourage the athletes of today to be well-rounded, educated leaders who continue to give back tomorrow. We are asking individuals and businesses to have a direct impact in the most sustainable aspect of the student-athlete–their character development.
